Frequently Asked Questions

Does Tainica accept health insurance?

Unfortunately no, we do not take insurance based clients.

How should I prepare for my first treatment?

  • Do NOT eat at least 1 hour prior to massage.

  • Shower if possible and do NOT put lotion on as it can interfere with the massage.

  • Have water on hand to stay hydrated

What should I expect from my first session?

  •  We will first start by taking a body assessment to determine the best path of treatment, as well as discuss your goals and expectations.

  • You will only remove clothing to the level that you are comfortable with. All clothing will be considered as a personal boundary designated by the client. 

  • We allow 5 minutes before and after the massage for the client to undress and dress respectively. 

What should I do after my massage?

  • We recommend drinking water as soon as possible. Massage therapy releases toxins from adhesions (knots) in your body that can only be removed through the urinary system.

  • Stretching helps prolong the effects of the massage to maximize the rewards.

  • Eat if your hungry. Massage therapy can inadvertently stimulate digestion. You may feel hunger due to not eating before the massage.

  • If possible you you should rest your muscles for a few hours.

Should I expect any bruising?

  • For Myofascial Release, no. 

  • Deep Tissue and modalities like Sports Massage can leave some swelling and potential bruising depending on the issue being addressed. 

  • We do our very best to make sure we stay in your comfort levels to minimize bruising, however with certain muscular conditions it is sometimes unavoidable.

Can I customize the massage to my liking?

To a certain extent yes.

The modalities being offered require a set amount of time to be completed fully, but if the client decides they would rather have more attention spent on certain issues that deviate from the original flow that IS allowed.

Keep in mind that there is no extra time added to the massage in this way. Those specifications will have to be worked within the same time limit of the service defined.

What if I don't feel comfortable taking off clothing due to personal reasons?

As stated above, your comfort level is the most important thing.

  • Only remove clothing YOU are comfortable removing. 

  • We consider clothing left on as a personal boundary.

  • We will NOT ask you to remove any clothing and can work over your clothes for most types of massage.

Can I have a guardian present during the massage?

Yes you can.

  • As previously stated, your comfort level is the most important part of your experience. As long as the guardian does not physically interfere in the massage then there is no issue.

  • If you require assistance disrobing or clothing yourself you will have to have  someone assist you that is not the therapist. This is NOT an option. This policy exists for the safety of both our clients and therapists.

Can I listen to my own music during the massage?

Yes you can. 

  • You may listen to whatever you like during the session as long as communication between the therapist and client is still clear.

Can you massage me with my own Oil/Lotion?

Yes, you are welcome to use your own massage oil/lotion.
However, keep in mind that in certain modalities such as Myofascial Release and Sports Massage, little to no lubricant is used. In these scenarios we will use a balm or no product at all.

What is your policy on harassment? 

  • We have a ZERO tolerance policy on any sexual conduct of any kind. 

  • We do NOT offer sexual services and will not entertain any sexual conduct, including from the client.

  • Safety is a priority for the client and the therapist.

  • We respect our clientele and will not tolerate any kind of sexual behavior from our therapists. However, the same applies to our clients.

  • If at any point our therapists feel harassed, they CAN immediately end the massage and you will NOT receive a refund.

Cancelation Policies

Can I cancel my session?

  • We have a 24-hour cancelation policy. You must cancel no less than 24 hours before your massage to receive a full refund.

  • If you cancel the day of the appointment you will not receive a refund of your deposit.

How do I cancel?

  • You can cancel your appointment on the member service page or over the phone.

  • When you book a session you  will receive a email with the link to sign up to our member are. This is where you can manage your bookings.

Late Policy

  • Late arrivals will receive the remaining time frame they booked. Full payment is still required.

Are Walk In's Available?

  • Walk In's available for 30-minute sessions only.

  • You Must fill in the Health Intake form sent to you via email/text in order to receive services.
