After Care Guide

As your system begins to integrate the work, especially after deeper modalities like Myofascial Release or Neuromuscular Therapy, your after-care is an important part of the healing process.

What to Expect

It’s completely normal to experience:

  • Mild to moderate soreness within the first 24–72 hours

  • Possible tenderness or small bruising in areas of deep fascial or trigger point work

  • A “shifting” sensation in the body as tension patterns unwind

  • Some people may feel this for up to a week depending on how their body responds, their hydration levels, and any underlying conditions.

Activity Guidelines

To support your recovery:

  • Take it easy for the first 24 hours.

  • Avoid strenuous activity for at least 24 hours, and try not to “push it” or over-exert for 72 hours while your tissues reset.

  • Gentle movement, walking, and light stretching are okay.

Hydration + Detox Support

Your body will continue processing metabolic waste released during fascial and muscle work—such as lactate, inflammatory byproducts, and tension-related metabolites—which are swept out through the lymphatic system.
To support this:

  • Drink plenty of water for the next 48–72 hours.

  • Herbal teas, electrolytes, and anti-inflammatory foods can also help.

Self-Care You Can Do at Home

Here are supportive ways to soothe soreness and encourage recovery:

  • Warm Epsom salt bath (great for magnesium replenishment + relaxation)

  • Arnica oil or gel to reduce soreness and inflammation

  • Biofreeze or other cooling gels if you prefer a cold-therapy effect

  • Light stretching or mobility work as tolerated

  • Heat or warm compresses for tight areas (avoid heat on bruising)

If You’re Still Sore After a Week

This can happen for a few reasons:

  • Underlying conditions that naturally create chronic tension or pain

  • Your body adjusting to a new pattern now that older restrictions have been released

  • “Pain resonance,” where your system becomes more aware of deeper layers now that surface tension has shifted

If discomfort persists longer than expected or if something doesn’t feel right, please reach out—we’re here to support your healing every step of the way.
