Does this treatment replace therapy?
No. Somatic Sobada Release is complementary bodywork and does not replace psychotherapy, psychiatric care, or other mental-health treatment.
What does trauma-informed mean at Tainica?
It means emphasizing consent, communication, autonomy, boundaries, and client choice throughout the treatment.
What is Sobada?
Sobada refers to traditional forms of hands-on bodywork found throughout parts of Mesoamerica. At Tainica, we incorporate Sobada traditions alongside contemporary therapeutic massage practices.
What is a limpieza?
A limpieza is a traditional cleansing practice. When appropriate and requested, an optional sweeping ritual may be incorporated into the session.
Do I have to participate in the limpieza?
Absolutely not. It is entirely optional.
Can I stop the treatment?
Yes. You can request a pause, change of technique, change of pressure, or end the session at any point.
