A progressive 8-session bodywork plan incorporating Swedish Sobada and Deep Tissue Sobada to provide a structured, trauma-informed approach to clients exploring the relationship between emotional wellbeing, physical tension, and bodily awareness.

Somatic Sobada Release is designed for clients who have been referred to therapeutic bodywork as a complementary component of an existing mental-health or wellness plan. The Somatic Sobada Release Plan alternates between Swedish Sobada and Deep Tissue Sobada across eight sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this treatment replace therapy?

No. Somatic Sobada Release is complementary bodywork and does not replace psychotherapy, psychiatric care, or other mental-health treatment.

What does trauma-informed mean at Tainica?

It means emphasizing consent, communication, autonomy, boundaries, and client choice throughout the treatment.

What is Sobada?

Sobada refers to traditional forms of hands-on bodywork found throughout parts of Mesoamerica. At Tainica, we incorporate Sobada traditions alongside contemporary therapeutic massage practices.

What is a limpieza?

A limpieza is a traditional cleansing practice. When appropriate and requested, an optional sweeping ritual may be incorporated into the session.

Do I have to participate in the limpieza?

Absolutely not. It is entirely optional.

Can I stop the treatment?

Yes. You can request a pause, change of technique, change of pressure, or end the session at any point.
